A bit deeper

Thank you for giving me the time of day friend.
For you, like others, have led me into the open field of emotion.
But you, like no other, have held me, and watched me, cry and scowl,
And not led me to the wolves of regret.

I thank you regularly, without thought, without sorrow.
You are great, and have not judged me, I hope.
You have kept me warm and sane.

And I have helped you, a quick mend, something like, a band-aid.
When you are down, and have open wounds,
I am here, curing and mending your sadness.

I would not refer to you as a ‘best friend,’
But something a bit deeper, something greater,
Because, well, it is anticipated.
But I will refer to you, as one, who truly, cares.

Thank you, for your love.
